Review Of First Day Filming

Our first day shooting our music video was a success however there were some drawbacks. Looking upon the positives we were able to capture lively shots of teenagers dancing alongside our chosen song. We hope to include this shot in our music videos, during the upbeat tempo sections of the song. When we come to editing, we hope to speed up the shots we captured and colour corrects the shots: this is because it would create a good visual representation for the audience. Rather than keeping it as a studio shot. However, the drawbacks of the music video were: as we hoped to capture both a dance shot and a lip-synching shot (of our featured artist)-when attempting to capture the lip-synching shot she did not know the lyrics to song, which affected the production schedule we made. Another negative was the mise-en-scene of the shot as those featured in this shot were wearing their school uniform which subverted from the codes and conventions of current pop music video, which consist of people wearing crop tops, mini-short, dresses, skirts and high heels. However, they were wearing brightly coloured clothing. The reason we opted for a studio shot was because of the high and low lighting which enhances those within the shot, to create emphasis on the moods emitted. The use of the tripod enabled us to capture steady shots and stability throughout.

First Day of Photoshoot - Edits of Featured Artist

Results of the first day photoshoot - Featured Artist

From the first photoshoot of the featured, artist was a success and this can be demonstrated from the images that we captured. these images will then be edited on Adobe PhotoShop, in which will then be used as part of our website and digipak.

First Day Photoshoot - Featuring artist

These images showsour progress from our first Photoshoot that was taken in the studio. Subsequently we have takenpictures of the featured artist in our first photo shoot in the studio as we wanted a clear white background with professional lighting equipment's that make the images look good quality but also it will be easier to edit on Adobe Photoshop. When taking these images, we had to consider all the mise-en-scenesincluding the artists outfit, makeup, props, facial expressions etc as we had to ensure the artist conforms to the representation of a pop singer by the codes and conventions. These images can also be useful for the website as many pictures are needed for the website. Initiallywe thought more pictures should be taken of the featured artist solely by themselves and thought that we could combine the solo images of both the featured artist and the main artist. However this proved to be difficult as the images looked fake and therefore we opted to keep the main artists as the front of our digi-pack and website.
